Triggered Feminist Claims English Language Is Sexist Then Gets Brilliantly Owned By A Linguist

It all started off with a thought that, in all fairness, deserves to be discussed, debated and picked apart. The English language is a phenomenal one and one that updates itself year by year but still uses a lot of traditional words and their meanings. That was the trigger cause of all this debate.

A Tumblr user who refers to herself as ‘Feminist Chewbacca’ wanted to challenge the root causes of patriarchal domination in society. As you can only imagine, her issues were with the English language being dominated by alleged inherent sexism.

With the likes of “fake news” claims constantly disregarding the mainstream media, it’s more important than ever now to get your facts checked. This, unfortunately, is where Feminist Chewbacca slipped up a little bit.

She reblogged a post that she’d found on Visual Poetry, but what she probably didn’t expect was that her post would be fact-checked by an actual linguist. And thanks to the poorly chosen examples of female inequality in the English language, she has been made out to look like a bit of a basic bitch.

There are a few things we should point out here, by starting your argument with “Men fabricated the idea that they are the default sex to compensate for their biological inferiority and general superfluousness”, you know that you’ve already come across as a pretty militant man-hater. No real facts or logic to back up her point, just a statement essentially spouting “men have little dicks so they wanna seem important”.

I should also state that we have no evidence that the ‘linguist’ in question is indeed qualified or not. But after checking some of the statements, some of the claims do in fact hold up while others are open to debate themselves.

Hecky thump, this really is a quarrel and a half. What do you think? Is it the ramblings of a mad feminist or do you think she has a point?
