Presenting art in a unique and exciting way can be a challenge for a lot of artists. Finding a subject matter, inspiration and a message doesn’t always come naturally. Other times, your surroundings prove to be your subject matter.
Then you have the dilemma of choosing a canvas to work with. And though some artists aim to provoke change in the world, others just want to make people smile. But an LA-based street artist who goes by the moniker of ‘Lonesome Town‘ has managed to combine both.
This artist aims to showcase how much flytipping and littering happens in the LA area. By adding a childlike cartoon face to abandonned televisions and chairs, it makes you almost feel sorry for the furniture. You feel a sense of guilt and sadness. By showing the heartbroken looks of abandonned furniture, it will hopefully showcase the real issues of littering.
Below we have compiled a list of our favourite creations. Have a gander and let us know which ones are your favourites in the comment section below.
These adorable characterised pieces of furniture really know how to tug at your heartstrings. Hopefully, people will think twice about littering now.
