Artist Draws Awkward Comics Of Everyday Life To Compare Her Chinese Heritage With Western Culture

The eastern and western cultures seem like they’re worlds apart. One illustrator named Siyu was born and raised in Beijing and has spent the last 10 years travelling, working and studying abroad in the United States, France and the United Kingdom.

I’ve lived in China for several months and the culture change was something that definitely took a lot of getting used to.

Siyu started her “tiny eyes” comics a year ago in the hopes of sharing Chinese culture with the western world to all who are curious. China isn’t just pollution, No Facebook and communism which are the main 3 things people think of.

“To me, learning about other cultures has always been a fun experience, and I want to pass this feeling to people who are curious about China.”

Her illustrations are adorable little looks into her life and they brilliantly show the differences in cultures of countries around the world.

Below, we have compiled a list of some of our favourite comic strips from her series. We hope you enjoy them as much as we did.
