1 year on from Donald Trump’s inauguration and the women of the world have taken to the streets once more. Last year’s Women’s March was a monumental event with thousands turning out to protest the inequalities in the world, whether that be racism, homophobia, gender inequality or government.
This year there was an even bigger turnout proving that this movement is here to stay. Women (and men) from different backgrounds, races, religions and ages all marched to share their gripes, stories and experiences in protest to many issues that are still circulating in society.
For many of the protesters, it’s been a pretty tough year. With the #MeToo campaign shedding light to hundreds of stories of sexual assault in the workplace, social injustices still occurring and the constant desire for President Trump to be impeached.
But that doesn’t mean the world is all negative. Now there are more women than ever before signing up for office with the aim of making the world an equal society.
Donald Trump, of course, not wanting to miss out on an opportunity, tweeted his ‘solidarity’ to the women’s march despite 90% of the people protesting being there to protest him as a main cause of the issue.
Somehow, I’m not surprised that he’s managed to make the Women’s March a way to brag about himself being the president. As usual, there were some very angry signs, some political signs and some downright hilarious signs.
So have a gander at some of the best signs from the numerous Women’s Marches around town and let us know which is your favourite in the comment section below. And if you’ve created your own, we would love to see them so send us a picture! Enjoy.
